We should always put ourself in a position where we can keep learning. It doesn’t matter what size the company is, how many users we have, how big or small our revenue is. We should always, always stay curious.
Never try to tackle a problem alone or reach a conclusion on your own. If you’re developing a new feature, ask the users what they think. If you’re making a strategic decision, involve your colleagues. If someone does or says something unexpected, try to understand why.
No change-making company was built on a static tech stack, company culture or management tool. Though we cannot act as beta testers for every new tool with a cool value prop that pops up on product hunt, we should always look to solve tasks smarter, better and more efficient.
Make decisions based on feedback and data. As humans we are very prone to bias, have our personal opinions and taste. A lot of wrong decisions can be avoided by always consulting data when it’s available. If data is not available, explore ways to ensure it will be available in the future. This will allow us to make decisions based on data in that area and evaluate the decisions we make.
