Language matters

There are a lot of unconscious ways that we inadvertently discriminate or exclude minorities. One very important aspect is language. Everyone in the company should have the opportunity to educate themselves on this area, and Sustainly will make materials on the subject available.

When possible use tools in order to avoid biased language. For example when posting job advertisements.

Define what transgressive behaviour is and have zero tolerance towards it

In order to secure the psychological safety of everyone in the company, it is obvious that the company will have a zero tolerance towards transgressive behaviour. In order to not let transgressive behaviour something to be defined on the fly and when/if an incident happens, the company will at all times have guidelines for how transgressive behaviour is defined in the context of the company.

Measurable and actionable equity

Everyone in Sustainly should have equal opportunities. Since structural discrimination is very well-documented, the company will at all times have an equity strategy with concrete initiatives to ensure that all employees in the company feel that they are employed on equal terms and with the same opportunities as their peers. This will be evaluated using anonymous surveys or other tools in order to ensure that the actual perception of equity in the company is always used to evaluate the status of equity in the company.
